Swing in Bloom is organized by West Coast Swing Events Ottawa, a Canadian non-profit by a group of dancers committed to preserving Ottawa’s connections to the broader national and international WCS community, while strengthening and celebrating our local WCS scene.

Our mission is to create a space where dancers feel delighted to work on their craft, valued beyond their competitive achievements, and engaged both as dancers and as members of a community.

Mandate

Our mandate is built on three pillars that hold up our mission and vision.

1) Community

To cultivate a safe, welcoming, and inclusive community for local, national, and international West Coast Swing dancers of all identities and backgrounds–including all genders, races, ethnicity, abilities, ages—to express themselves creatively.

2) Development

To facilitate unique educational, social, and competitive opportunities for West Coast Swing dancers of all skill levels to develop their artistic and technical skills.

3) Excellence

To platform and showcase internationally-acclaimed West Coast Swing dancers who inspire, innovate, advance, and push the boundaries of the art form.

To maintain high standards of arts organizing and event production that reflect and support Ottawa’s growing reputation as a top-tier destination for West Coast Swing.
