David Ward (he/him) has been geeking out over swing dancing since 2004. What started as a hobby quickly grew into a passion that took him deep into West Coast Swing, Lindy Hop, Blues, and Balboa — and eventually into teaching and competing across North America. Over the years, he’s gained recognition in West Coast Swing, Lindy Hop, Blues, and Balboa, what keeps him hooked is the people, the music, and the constant opportunity to learn and grow.
After a few years away, David is back on the floor, reconnecting with the community and diving even deeper into the dance. A self-professed dance nerd, he loves digging into the mechanics and tiny nuances that make everything click — and sharing those “aha!” moments with anyone who loves to learn, laugh, and just enjoy the ride. Whether it’s a late-night social or a workshop weekend, you’ll find David bringing curiosity, musicality, and a whole lot of joy to the floor.
